If you are like me, you love meatballs that are swimming in an amazing, rich sauce. This sauce recipe is guaranteed to be one of the best you have ever tried. It works great with either homemade meatballs or the frozen premade ones. Don’t tell anyone, but I usually use the frozen ones. This recipe makes just the right amount of sauce for a 32 oz bag of frozen meatballs.
Ingredients you will need-
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 4 Tbsp Flour
- 2 Cups Beef Broth/Bullion
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt/Pepper to taste
Instructions-
- Add butter and flour to a medium heat skillet and whisk together as the butter melts to make a roux. Cook the roux until blonde or darker as you prefer.
- Stir in beef broth or bullion and heavy cream. Whisk to combine until all roux is incorporated into the liquid.
- Add worcestershire sauce and stir.
- Bring to a simmer and let reduce until thickened to your liking. Taste and add salt or pepper as desired.
- Add meatballs and cover with lid. Simmer until meatballs are heated through to 165F.
That’s it! An amazing family dinner ready in under an hour.
